For those of you who grew up watching MASH, yes, it is true, soldiers do develop a warped sense of humor when in a war zone. Take this recent email:
So I was at the CSH (pronounced Cash, for combat support hospital, what MASH became) when a soldier I embedded a reporter with like two days ago comes walking by wearing a hospital gown. Huh? Apparently they got hit by an RPG today. He was ok, just a little glass and shrapnel the docs had to take out, but a couple of his soldiers got messed up pretty good. Of course he's good ol' boy from Kentucky or TN, so he goes walking by with a dip in his mouth and a can of Copenhagen in the pocket of his gown. Good for a laugh.
