They say that calling a person names isn't an appropriate motivator. Well, apparently likening the connex to Godot worked. Ed wrote this morning to let me know that the connex has arrived in Kuwait.
Good news! Right?
Ha! If you are a regular reader, especially if you read the post of November 17, you know things are never that easy.
A few hours later, another email came through: "Looking hopefully at leaving Sunday, I just need to call state (the Oregon National Guard headquarters -ed) right quick and verify they don't want me to wait another 2 weeks for the next available ship for our connex to get on."
Yes, two weeks. The next boat that the connex might be able to get on leaves in two weeks. No guarantee though that it could even make it on that one.
So, Ed could be out of Kuwait on Sunday. He could leave mid-June. Or, he could be there even longer. In šaʾ Allāh, it will be Sunday.
