Back on U.S. soil

Normally, when my phone rings at 5:00 in the morning, I am NOT amused. This morning however, I was down right ecstatic. Ed was calling from Maine to let me know that he had arrived back in the states.

A quick shout-out to the folks in Bangor, Maine. Apparently there is a community of retired service members (and others?) who make a point of meeting every plane that comes in with returning service members on it. They're there to cheer them on, shake their hands, and let them know that they are welcome home.

Best of all, they provide cell phones so the soldiers can call their families and share the good news, they're almost home.
